- What if my lake and/or fishing club are not on your list? Can I add them?
You may add new lakes as you fill out your Journal Entry. If a lake is not in our drop-down list, simply type the name of the lake in the space provided. After you submit your Journal Entry, we will add the new lake to the drop-down list. We will try to add it to the list within 48 hours of receiving the request.
You may add new fishing clubs that you belong to by using our My Profile link. Simply type in the name of the club, click Submit and we will add the club to your list. We will try to do so within 48 hours of receiving your request.

- Why aren't all reports for my lake(s) available in Ask Captain Jack?
We cannot display all reports in Ask Captain Jack until we have enough data available to do so. To speed this process up, we encourage you to enter as many valid reports as possible and to refer us to friends, family and other club members so they may enter their reports as well.

- What if my species, bait type, technique, etc. are not on your list of available choices?
While we encourage our members to submit any suggestions they may have as choices for these items via the link below, we cannot guarantee that we will use them. Our fishing experts will review all suggestions and compare them to our current list. If they decide that the suggested choice should be added to our lists, then we will do so. If they decide, however, that the suggestion does not warrant being added to our list (either because it is too specific, because it is too similar to an existing choice, etc.), we will not be able to add it. One of the keys to making our system work is that the answers to the questions asked in the Journal Entry be uniform and consistent from one fisherman to the next. That way we can "gather together" all similar answers and start to recognize patterns that are emerging or have emerged. Once we're able to recognize patterns, we can start making predictions for you that will put you onto more fish.
To make a suggestion, click the Contact Us link and describe in detail what you would like us to do. We will try to respond to your suggestion within 48 hours of receipt.

- What if I cancel my membership and then decide to join again?
If you cancel your membership, we will retain your username, password, and all data that you enter for one year from your cancellation date. If you decide to join AnglersChannel.com during this one-year period, simply log in with your username and password. The only area of the site that you will have access to is the My Profile page where you can choose to join by selecting whichever membership plan suits you best.

- What if I don't have a credit card? Do you accept other forms of payment?
Paying by credit card is the fastest and easiest way to become a member of AnglersChannel.com and is our preferred method of payment. However, we realize that many people do not have credit cards or would rather not use them for payment online. If this is the case for you, please Contact Us and we will try to make other arrangements. Please include your first and last name, the membership period you would like (monthly or annual), the payment method you would like to use, and provide a valid email address where you can be reached. We will try to contact you within 48 hours of receiving your message.

- How often should I fill out my Personal Journal?
We encourage our members to fill out their Personal Journals as often as possible, preferably after each fishing trip. Database technology today allows us to quickly learn things from data that the human brain could not possibly learn on its own. The Internet is a great way to accumulate large amounts of data quickly and effectively. If we can consistently accumulate large volumes of data about specific bodies of water, well be able to give you knowledge about fishing those bodies of water that you cant get anywhere else not even from the local marinas, guides or tackle shops! Everyone will benefit if we all work together to make AnglersChannel.com the largest repository of fishing information available.

- How is the information I record in my Personal Journal used?
The information you record in your Journals is used in a couple of different ways. First, it is archived for your personal use. You can view each Journal Entry individually and you can also get personalized reports that highlight and summarize your results. The second way it is used is in aggregate with all of our other members' data. This is extremely powerful because it allows you to benefit from the knowledge and hard work of all the other anglers in your local area, your region and the entire country. From this data, we'll be able to identify trends and patterns that emerge and feed them back to you quickly so you'll have a better idea of where to go and what to do the next time you go fishing. We'll also be able to give you valuable statistics on your favorite bodies of water and fish species. The information you provide is extremely important, so please fill out your Journal as often and as accurate as possible.
- Can anyone else view the information in my Personal Journal?
Absolutely not! Your User Name and Password provide security against unauthorized access to your Personal Journal by others. Only you can access your Journal. No one else can view your individual data. In addition, when the responses you enter into your Personal Journal are transferred to our database, they are analyzed in aggregate only and are never reported in association with any personally identifiable information. No one will be able to see that John Smith used XYZ lure on XYZ lake on XYZ date. We hope you will realize the value of giving us information about your fishing trips that we can then use to improve your knowledge of fishing on a specific body of water, but we want you to know that we recognize the value of your privacy and we are committed to protecting your personal information.
